The American Heart Association's Opioid Education for Healthcare Providers Course is a self-directed, eLearning course that teaches all levels of clinical healthcare providers (EMTs/paramedics, nurses, physicians, mid-level providers) how to provide immediate treatment and care for opioid overdose victims. The course educates participants in the pathophysiology of opioid overdose; special considerations on how to care for overdose patients, including naloxone administration; recognizing the need for high-quality CPR; and use of a defibrillator as indicated*. The course offers information on the importance and types of resources available for individuals after an opioid overdose, including medication-assisted therapies. This course covers adults only.

The ASHI First Aid (American Safety Health Institute)course provides first responders with training in basic first-aid procedures -- including the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA -- in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course covers:

  • First Aid Basics
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Injury Emergencies
  • Environmental Emergencies

This program conforms to the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid. Aprox 2 hours

The ASHI Basic First Aid course helps students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. This first aid training program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and conforms to the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid. 

Performance evaluation: All students must perform required skills competently without assistance. Recommended time to complete • Initial training: 2.5-3 hours • Renewal training: Less than initial instructional time

This ASHI CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.This covers adult and pediatric modules. This does not include first aid.

The First Aid CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. 

This program conforms to the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid.

This is not BLS for healthcare providers

Recommended for: Teachers, Fitness Trainers, Parents, Construction, Nannies, Caregivers, Security Guards, Laypeople, Foster parents, Restaurant, Coach, Social Worker, etc.

Course length is approximately 3-4 hours

This First Aid CPR AED course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. All ages covered.

A hands-on skills portion is required once the online is completed and is included with this purchase.

This American Heart BLS for Providers hands on classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed, healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures. Aproximately 3 hours. 2 Year AHA Certification – Same Day Certification Card!

Who is the intended audience for the BLS Provider Course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare providers caring for patients both in prehospital and in-facility environments. Recommended for: MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Medical Personnel, etc.

Note: The BLS for Healthcare Providers course is now called BLS Provider. This course replaces the BLS Healthcare Providers course and is intended for healthcare providers. 

The BLS course covers:

  • Adult and Pediatric CPR
  • Two-Rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • Special resuscitation situations
  • Stroke and cardiac arrest
  • Other cardiopulmonary emergencies

 

 

The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (Heartcode BLS HCP) Online Course offers a flexible training option for busy healthcare professionals. The complete course is delivered in three parts.To receive a BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card using this program, students must complete three parts:

    • HeartCode BLS Part 1. Upon successful completion of the online portion, including the written exam, students receive a Part 1 certificate of completion, which must be presented for parts 2 and 3.
    • Part 2*, a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA BLS Instructor or using a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) system
    • Part 3*, a skills test with an AHA BLS Instructor or using a VAM system

    *Parts 2 and 3 should be completed in one "skills practice and testing" session. These are included with the online course purchase. Contact the office to schedule the skills session. 

    Approximately how long does HeartCode BLS Part 1 take to complete?
    Part 1 can be completed in approximately 1 to 2 hours; time to complete a skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3) varies.

Upon successful completion of all three parts students receive their healthcare provider course completion card.

You will receive the SAME certification card after completing the in-person skills practice session and skills test as you would at the end of the classroom-based version of this course.

This self directed elearning course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site specific instruction.

RESCHEDULING: Late rescheduling fees apply to any registration that has been rescheduled previously. All courses must be rescheduled within 30 days of the original class date. You can reschedule one time without incurring a charge, after that a $10 processing fee applies.

LATE ARRIVALS: You must be on-time for class, if late you will be asked to reschedule.

Remote skills session included.
